Tranquility ...
It's cold here today, but just beautiful. While I was out and about, I decided to take the scenic route and enjoy the sunshine and fresh snow. We still don't have alot of snow, but just enough for everything to glisten in the sun. I'm thankful for the freedom to enjoy the tranquility of the hidden places where God's whisper can be heard in the wind.Sunday, January 28, 2007
Let it Snow ...

Well, these are not technically great, or creative photos, but fun anyway. We finally have enough snow to sled, and the kids were so excited to go try out the hills. They had a blast! I did shoot in manual, and tried out back button focusing - which is hard to do with a moving target. I used my 24-105L lens with settings as follows: 1/320, F4, ISO 400.Saturday, January 27, 2007
Tangles ...
I was cleaning the house today and found this little guy. K made him for me for Christmas out of "Tangles". She made him by herself, and then wrapped the gift by herself (when she and Daddy had "present" day). She was so proud to give him to me, and I haven't had the heart to take him apart. So, he's just been hangin' around. I might just leave him like this forever - he's pretty cute! :) Settings were as follows: 50mm, 1.8, 1/125, ISO 800

The Little Things ...

I've been inspired by the ILP gals that are doing 365 days in photos, and decided to jump on the bandwagon and start a blog of my own. So many things happen each day that you think you will remember forever. Then, days/months/years later, you can't recall the details about the big things, let alone the little things. I've never had a blog, nor do I keep a regular journal, but I DO take photos. So, I figured that it couldn't hurt to give photo blogging a shot. I think blogging will give me a necessary nudge, and help me to record what I want to remember about each day of this year. It seems that so much of what is important to me is not really in the BIG events of life, but in the little things. I want to acknowledge and be thankful for my blessings each day, and remember the little things tomorrow.
This photo is not from today, but from a couple of days ago. It's a photo of a tile that I made (thanks to Miranda for sharing directions), and a great example of the what I want to capture and remember. A simple touch can mean so much! It TRULY is in the little things ...
Until tomorrow ~
Diane :)
