Happy December ...

Santa will be here soon!!

Testing a new backdrop and some new black and white actions, with my same little model (she's such a trooper). Can't really see the backdrop, but I like the b&w actions from Brenda A so much, that I chose the b&w over showing the backdrop. Here is link to her actions http://www.brendaacuncius.com/actions. I'm not sure I like the drop so much - I think I will be looking for a replacement. I wanted a brown drop, and it's really more gray. :( I kind of liked a few of the photos though, so I thought I would share.

Love this litte guy ...

Most days he sits on the rock to sun himself, just outside of the kitchen window. The kids will actually put seeds out on the rock for him. He's so much fun to watch. The other day I was getting ready to leave for a shoot and he came out to greet me, and actually let me get pretty close. I cannot believe he even sat still long enough for me to take his picture!

Groovy Girl, Captain Underpants, and a Punkin ...

all make for great fun! The kids had a ball dressin' up and plain ole being silly. Oh, and they always love the C A N D Y!!! I think between our kids and the neighbors, they spent an hour and a half sifting through the loot and swapping. Eddy ... well, he's our adopted dog from next door. Isn't he adorable?

It's Fall ...

I can't believe it! Where in the world does the time go. It sure seems like I was just here posting, but it's actually been months. I didn't really feel like this was worth doing, but I've honestly missed blogging, and I'm reminded daily that I haven't posted anything new. So, for those of you who have missed me, I'll try to be better about getting here more frequently.

Since it was Katie's seventh Birthday last week, I took her out to get some updated photos. Here are a few of my favorites.

We found the most beautiful field of wild flowers and just decided to stop. Honestly, I could have enjoyed them all day ... except for bugs!! We did make a new friend (owner of the property), and we now have free access to this great location. I can't wait to go back.

Still trying to get used to the new camera. These were done with the 50mm as well, which is always a challenge for me. The b&w was at ISO 1600. WOW!

April Showers ...

We had a nice Spring rain this morning, and when I took a peek outside, I saw that our first flower of the season had just popped out. I'm always excited to see the new growth.

Longing for Summer ...

I do love Winter, but they are calling for another severe Winter storm tonight, and it's COOOLD! I've been working on Ebay auctions, so my camera has been totally occupied with "work" lately. But as I was looking for a photo tonight, I came across a few from summer that just warmed my heart, and made me smile. Talk about a free spirit ... these are the moments that I NEVER want to miss!!

Two Year Old and Pictures?

Hmmm - when I asked this almost two year old to let me take his photo, this is what he did. Sheesh ... :)

My Little Buddy J

I love this little guy - he's just the sweetest thing. I think his favorite word is NO, but he's turning 2, so what can you expect. He sure is cute though, even when he is saying no. It's just REALLY hard to get him still long enough for even one photo.

Recently added backlights for high key, but still need barn doors, or softboxes on those lights. Tech: 50mm, ISO 100, 1/125, f8.
